![]() Welcome to the forum - hope you settle in well at home ![]() I'd wandered around Lookers in Cowdray Avenue a few years ago and they "looked" very smart but seemed to do more of the fancy stuff (and Volvo?). Brother-in-law is very "down to earth" (he IS from Colchester ![]() Cheers Matt Oh - and " ![]() ![]() Is " ![]() ![]() Sigh - just like being a schoolboy again. Pig-Latin next... Back on topic. it seems very stupid of LR, who excell in building vehicles that "go on forever" that the trip meter will only go to 100000.
Maybe they think it would have rusted away by then. ![]() ![]() |

My 200 tdi with the older type of speedo, ie non digital. It is showing 160,000 miles. In theory I could go to 999,999 miles brfore the clock goes back to 000000. That would be some amount of diesel

I don't really understand this question! A mile after the odometer displays 99999 it will display 100000, just as you would expect (and mine will be doing this before the end of the week; if I can I will photograph before and after). My odometer only shows tenths of miles on the trip meter, and surely no-one lets that trip run to 100k miles (unless they're slightly unusual)? I imagine the odometer can run to 999999 but I don't know what happens come the millionth mile, and I rather doubt that even the high-milers here will be finding out anytime soon. It seems unlikely that a 2002 Defender would have done 1015000 miles (although not impossible since it is only just over 100k per year = 2000 per week = 400 per day) but I would expect the vehicle to show signs of this. More likely that it is an exceptionally low milage vehicle, or has been clocked or fitted with new parts. |

Ah, but Td5's only go up to 99999.9 miles.... when you hit the one hundred thousand, it goes to 100000 but you then lose the .0 on the end and only clicks up in complete miles... you need to push the button to go to the trip readout to get to the other reading, which (assuming you've reset it at some point, and not let that climb up to 99999.9miles) will give you a smaller figure with enough room to show the 10th of the mile.
