The odds are it's made of vinyl. MEK is the main solvent to avoid.

It's likely the underlying colour would have been shielded from the sun while all the exposed faded. It might not be possible to totally remove all traces of the image. On my van it took two years for the sign writing to be etched into the panel colour (the only way to hide it was to sell it while raining

I'm sure the Gumtree ones (assuming that is the one you are referring to) are silk-screen printed, the only thing that will remove it is thinners but, as has been said above, you will almost certainly be left with a shadow

Thanks all. It's a 'The Man for Land Rovers' one, with an image of his eponymous establishment silk screened in a beige colour.
Perhaps I am being too mean and should go and buy a new one, but it seemed a shame to throw it away when in all other respects it's serviceable. What new one though? Plain? Land Rover logo? 'Defender'? This last seems a little shouty somehow - a touch of the HumVees? |

I chucked my Oxford establishment one. thought about selling it on here, but reckoned on nobody wanting it. Buy yourself a plain black one, less chance of it been knicked. rs2315. |
