Thanks. I'm on the later 2.2 (2015) and have the .....050 kit. Yes, picked up the lighting no problem but the reversing light pickup is still as described in the OP post (at lease the 050 kit has all this. I'll hook up to the van and see if I have reversing lights from the multi socket under the rear protector - guess that should tell me.

A bit(!!) of a thread resurrection...
Im fitting a trailer socket (std LR socket/wiring loom/connector) to my 2001 TD5 HT and want to fit it in the recess in the rear cross member. However, there is a square cut out behind the recess but behind that there is a round hole. The LR connector wont pass through the round hole. Before I disconnect the wires from the 7 pin socket, is there another route to get the wire through the cross member to the trailer connector in the rear wheel arch..? No, there isn't. This is classic recent Land-Rover "design", to provide a purpose-built recess for the socket, then sell a socket kit that cannot easily be used with it! Doh!
It may be easier to remove the connector inserts from the shell in the photo rather than remove them from the 7-pin socket (sometimes the 7-pin end is "potted" with a dielectric potting compound). |

Thanks for the reply.
I have managed to get the square connector through the round hole....just. Then it hits the back of the fuel tank....! However, with a large screwdriver and not a little force I managed to get it through. I didn't fancy taking the pins out of the socket, I've done that before and it didn't end well. Anyway, its done now. The next issue is to find my rivnut gun.... cheers simon |
