Any Pics. I looked at doing this some time back but gave up as it was proving too much hasstle trying to fix board to the rack without stripping it off and lights etc off. I plan on getting a patriot later ins the year which will solve tis issue for me Keen to hear what others have done Defender 110 County SW Disco 3 HSE Freelander 2 HSE - SOLD going back to a car www.lothian4x4response.org |

Here ya go...
From underneath, the rack has brackets to attach the board.. Fastened with countersunk stainless....though I would really put a big washer and cap head it down at a later date.. Overall view, I put the slots in to pick up on lashing points. |

Quick question- Are these racks noisy on the road? Ive been thinking of a G4 expo for a while now but been put off doing it because people told me that there is a lot of wind noise and it affects mpg. RRS tdv8 08 Disco 3 HSE 57 Defender 90 xs 06 All gone |

its a defender - off course its noisy on the road
Seriously - I do not have a board on mine - but it's not bad - and to be honest - any change in MPG is only really noticeable when I am carrying stuff on top - I have minimalist spot lights but on my old Disco 3 with the expo rack and big lights it did make a difference - Defender 110 County SW Disco 3 HSE Freelander 2 HSE - SOLD going back to a car www.lothian4x4response.org |

A friend mounted a chequer plate section to his rack using U bolts which worked well... and the drilling was very neat I'll see if I can find a pic, but don't remember taking one during the fitting |

Some of my powder coating has come off the top of the rack and I can see rust. Has anyone a good method to 'fix' this. Not had anything powder coated before!
Good photos. Ours about to be loaded with bikes and luggage for some wet lake district camping for a week. 375 miles each way......our first big outing in her too! 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |

Powder coating is a right royal pain in the asss when it starts coming off.
Get a bit of Smoothrite paint on the exposed bit, peck any loose bits off before doing so. |
