I have bought a new standard rubber matt for the load space from Paddocks.
I have removed the rear seat floor mountings as they where partly covering the old matt. I actually thought that they were mounted on top of the matt and only have holes for the screws but realised that the matt actually had cut-outs (quite bad fitting job from factory) Question: Should I (try to) make cut-outs in the new matt for the seat mountings OR should I just mount the seats on the matt and only make holes for the screw? I think it is easier only make holes for the screws? And why not have this thin rubber in-between? What is your opinion? All comments are more than welcome |

It will be difficult for me to present any pictures of the old rubber mat as it came out in many pieces and is already in the bin. (It was completely destroyed by the previous owner, hence the refurbishment).
I think I am going to make holes only for the screw and let the seats be supported with the mat in-between. Cheers for comments |

Ok, assuming you have a Puma then there are two types of genuine' floor mat, one for SW with 7 seats and one for USW variants.
The 7 seat option has cut outs for the seat mechanism so that it can be removed with the seats in situ. The USW version doesn't and is rectangular. TD5 mats were the same as the USW as they used side facing seats with no parts bolted to the floor. The Paddocks mat will be the USW / TD5 type, John http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk 2011 Tdci 110 CSW XS |

The mats hold water, mud and crud very effectively. Drilling holes through it would compromise the waterproofing properties of the mats. Depends really on your own circumstances and what you use your Landy for....

Yes it is a Puma (hence the Puma section of this forum But I could of course have revealed it clearer.) sw 7 seats.
The fitting work (from factory) was done quite badly in the way that it was not possible to remove the mat without first remove the seat fittings (mat partly squeezed between floor and mounting fittings). I did not find the “original” mat with the cut outs (apart from a very think one, may be I used wrong search technique) Anyway, it is the TD5 type mat I have bought. Good comments about water tightness and easily removing. I will have a second thought. Cheers guys! |
