Not a good picture, but like i said i bought (on ebay) Wipac clear lenses for all the front and rear lights and then purchased 380 1157 LED bulbs. For the brake lights i did however have to use the original connector as the one for the side indicators wasn't the right connection, but all i did was put the bulb in the original connector and it fit straight in the Wipac Clear Lense.
Will get a better Picture when dark if possible  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

My only concern with the LED bulbs is the brighness and the directional output. Unless they are different to the reversing light one have it's very directional. Annoying how for some reason a normal light bulb in my reversing light won't work but and LED will :? Pay a lot of attention about the LED bulbs, there are same model where, for a strange current return internal of the bulb) that make the Defender crazy (eg, side light + push the brakes = the cockpit goes ON )....
Better to spend the right money and have a complete working (and right ECE homologated) solution..... Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition IID Pro MV License |

The most basic fix is to splice a resistor into the indicator circuit each time you change a bulb, so if you replaced your indicators front and rear that would be four resistors. These work by acting as dummy loads and creating a load on the circuit similar to that of the original bulb and dumping this as heat. They need mounting to metal work as they get very hot but this will retain the original relay & functionality.
The next least expensive is to fit a towing buzzer on the electrics at the rear Then we get onto electronic solutions that we have developed but because of the market preferring resistors - such as those Wipac supply with their 95mm lamps in order to keep the headline price low then we do not push our electronic solutions as many feel the lights are already overpriced |

Oh thanks Tim. So you only have work arounds too. I thought you were going to say that you had a proper plug in replacement relay solution to address this issue.

Hi Pete As I said we then move onto electronic solutions which we have a plug & play relay based solution that will give trailer monitoring with LEDs but cost wise is more money than a set of lights as the demand is not there. Tim |
