The deep cycle is in the load bay in a battery box as the one supplied by LR is just too big to fit another next to it unless I would have had to buy two new smaller batteries.
I see some of you have two in the battery box but in RSA our batteries are huge.
Cheers
James

Your batteries are no bigger than ours - you just change them Mike

I fitted an additional baterry in the load area to run the fridge, shower, chargers while we are camping in the bush for say 3 to 4 days before one moves to the next camp etc. In this time you would have flattened the main battery so for this I have a deep cycle in the load area which gets charged only after you have started the engine and the sensor makes sure the voltage in the system is over 13 Volts for at least 5 minutes and then the solenoid connects the rear battery to recharge the 4 days worth of usage.
Hope this is what you were asking. Rolling Eyes Puma 110 - gone
Series III 1973 - going strong

Wow.. great job there. and totally pro looking.. thanks for the post. I need to wire up some stuff myself. But have NEVER done it before. I can picture everything in my mind what has to be done, but the things I need seem to be lost in translation.
I need an additional fuse box I see.
I want to add power station where I can plug in my 12V frig, and convert power to 240V.
I also want to add fog lights to my truck.
I'm not sure how to do all fo this, but I'm learning, and want to do it myself. Not rich, and I have the time to do the job, and do it well.

Thanks again for this thread.. very good to see the pictures.

As soon as I have some time I will post some more photos of what I have done since my first post, but basicly I have put a 10amp hella DIN sockert in the front, one in the back for the fridge with a switch on the dash so I can turn the fridge off (like when I roll onto the ferry). I have also wired the rear spot light in over the back door with a switch in the dash. I have also wired the roof rack for two external sockets. I just have to do the front roof spots to do now but with Easnor it will be a few weeks yet.

Well, I went by a local electronics shop/garage here, and asked for a quote for the work I want done. Thought I'd see how much it would cost for such a job. Looking at adding a second battery, two more 12v plugs at teh rear of the cubby box, two 12v at the rear of the truck next to the speakers, and a 230V adapter to plug up anything like a frig or whatever that may be needed. I'm sure the quote will be high.. the Swiss don't work for free.

Can anyone please recommend a place where I can find out how to do this myself.. a DIY manuel or a link..

Thanks in advance.. my education was agriculture, and war.. so except for that and outdoors, my indoors education is limited..
