Also being discussed HERE for what it's worth.
The guy who's produced this clearly thinks he's something special. He talks about the fact that there's nothing wrong with the existing shape and has then gone and changed almost every aspect of it Personally, his design reminds me of a 1970's Ford Bronco. i LOVE it.....they are coming closer the defender now....that is the direction they should go. DC 100 is just another crossover typ.
Land Rover should go on this design. Then you really could call it the NEW DEFENDER. I like how they have the Defender logo on the back door, reminds me of the toyota pickups in Australia.. hope to see more of this. Where to start.......
1. Since when did the Defender bonnet not be full width at the bulkhead (looks like a bonnet of an old Suzuki SJ: 2. Wheels and tyres- They look like a set of 15" wheels with low profile tyres..... 3. Roof- Defender has never had the ribbed roof..... plus LR can't seal sunroofs never mind a roof with sections!! 4. The colour. 5. Grill- Looked good on the Range Rover sport, and then followed up by the D4..... wait a minute- they are both swish fancy cars unlike the Defender which has had the same grill since 1983... why change what isn't broken. 6. Lights- Look like they belong on an Evoque. 7. DC100 in general looks better (they just need to sort the front end). 8. The side profile as mentioned earlier is of the old Ford Bronco: 9. The colour. Other reasons....... This guy draws this and other companies are coming up with ideas like these: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Personally I like the Ford Bronco concept..... looks almost Defender!! Agree entirely, diesel smith or whatever his name is, is pretty naive.
Apart from this bit, they weren't technically Defenders but pre 89s had ribbed roofs. JB @Lodelaner Instagram Youtube greenlaning and other LR related content |

The d100 is not going to be a Defender replacement, it is a new modle to fit in between Freelander and Evoge.
LR will be makeing a diferant motor to the d100, to replace the Defender. Live Life Ti'l You Die Teddys are out thier http://teddybearspicnic.webs.com http://130sasha.co.uk/ |

I like it, not that i would buy one - but its certainly less hideously radical as the DC100.

Looks fat and amphibious
...and not in a good way perhaps Too Hummer-like for me. However, with a bit of re-working it could definitely look much better than a DC100 Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I saw this a couple of week ago and the first thing that came to mind was "it looks like a Bronco". :/

I first though "Hummer" as well. Doncha lurrrv the jerry can inspired side panels?
Never seen a series roof then? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender |
