To protect the seats the only way I could think of was to knock up a box from MDF that you simply pull out when you don't need it.

I have in the past got a interior trimmer to make up a bespoke heavy duty vinyl liner for the rear section; this was held in place with pop rivets to the interior of the wife's (whisper it ... Wr***ler). This was to protect the interior fron two muddy dogs. It did the job perfectly for a number of years. Of course, it depends on what you are trying to protect the seats etc. from, dogs are one thing whereas tools jumping around the place are quite another.

Thanks guys, a bit more Googling and I have found that a couple of Boot liner manufacturers claim to have them for Defenders, I've shot off a couple of eMails asking for a bit more info - these seem closer to Defender4s solution. If that comes to nothing then i will need to look at Zags idea

Bringing this up-to-date, I can find nothing at all in the Marketplace.
Hatchbag seem to be the company that make the nearest thing, but alas not for a Defender 90. This link is a request to make a protector for unlisted cars, so if you fancy one then, filling it in will encourage them to make one for Defenders |

i have the rubber mat over the carpet for 95% of the time but when carrying bulky or really dirty stuff that could stain or damage i use a £5 goundsheet that is draped over both seats and floor and then tucked in a corner when not in use. BM52
