You can just replace the glass, BUT instead of doing that how about one of the larger non breakable ones?
OK will cost you more then the glass, but have better vision from mirrors and unlikely to break them in the future. Brendan |

I had a similar incident with a branch and you can replace just the glass, was about a £5. Unscrew the bolt under the wing mirror casing to remove from the ball joint and prize the mirror surround off to release the old glass (wear gloves to prevent glass ingress ) is quite stiff but become more flexible the more you prise it. Tip is to use WD40 or fairy liquid as lubrication to fit the new glass. I advise a bit of blue tac on the back of the glass to hold in place while you put the surrounding holder over the glass and rim. Be prepared to get cramp in your thumbs. All in all a 10 min job for an office bod like myself. Hope it helps ===================================

Cheers, just the kind of info I am after. I have considered fitting the MudStuff heated mirror kit as well.
I wonder how long this office bod (me) will take to do the job... 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
