You should always run in the motor and drive train. The Puma handbook details what Land Rover expect. We had to tow 1.5t of trailer 4500km with ours from new. Toyota (in Australia) won't officially cover you if you tow anything in the first service period, Land Rover looked confused when we asked if this was OK. We still took it easy though and so I think bedded the Puma in very well.
Increasing service intervals apply to everything, look in your owner's hand book again. Because I live in a hot tropical environment and drive in dusty conditions but don't do a lot of miles I'll go a maximum of 6 months or 5,000km between services. I've had to service my Tdi twice in a week and didn't manage 1000km, but it got a lot of low range dusty work that week. Turbo timers are a waste of money on new turbo's. You are much better slowing down when you know you will be stopping and just letting the car idle for a minute or two. Rust proofing - that's one I'd have to agree with, though my Puma seems to be pretty good so far. 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi LROCV ::: AULRO.com |
