Is it possible to get black wheel nut covers for alloys?
Seem to be plenty available for steels but cant find anything for Alloys. Similar situation to this thread, I'm having wheels powder coated black and want to make the alloys nuts black too. |

Get the nuts coated at the same time?
Or just paint them black? - easier to restore after damage when taking off/doing up |

£190 I make it! I gather from that a pot of paint it'll be then!
There's obviously a lot more engineering required to make alloy wheel nuts than steel. I bought the hand polished stainless ones but knock off the locking ones on each wheel (if you fit them) and you obviously reduce the price. He also threw in enough spares for me to do the spare on the rear for free. Then again the stainless ones are cheaper for steel wheels. This would be ideal but I need the truck on the road whilst this is being done so have dropped the spare wheel of and will rotate them one a time. I don't have a spare set of nuts to get the nuts done at the same time as the wheels So painting them in situ on the truck or plastic caps looks likely. If anyone has a full set thru want powder coated black I'll pay for the powered coating in return for a loan of full set so I can get mine done too and keep the truck on the road |

Is that different to Plasticote? As I've bought a spray can of that to spray the plastic wheel centers

Did the plasti dip stand up to the nuts going back, tight, without damaging the coat?
When you dip them doesnt it dry with a drip shape? how did you do yours? Will a 250ml tin do all 20 nuts? and did you use metal primer first? Thanks |
