Having diligently recorded mileage and fuel for the last 3406 miles in an Android app I can honestly say my 110 XS does 24.54mpg
I am on the stadard fit tyres General Grabber TRs, I do about 16 miles a day of the 23 at 60mph. Also have Snorkel and Roof Rack as per image on the site title. Just been to tha AlRC Nationals over the weekend which was 250 miles in total and just filled up to see I got 24.42 on the last tank which included towing the caravan up the A1 in convoy with my 80" |

No idea if I've done this right, as my maths is hopeless
a 70 litre fill up normall gets me around 400 miles before the light comes on, so that works out as 5.71 miles per litre some more complex calculatons later and I think it's about 25.9mpg Sounds about right |

Easiest way to work it out is divide your fill-up (in litres) by 4.54 to get it in gallons. Then it's just milesdriven over gallons used.
Anyway, since the remap I'm now consistently hitting 31mpg, which I've not seen since selling the old 90 |

I'm finding it hard to believe some of the mpg quotes on here I've had my 90 td5 for nearly 5years and best I can get on full tank is 260 miles or 23.6 mpg that's mainly motorway miles driving at steady 55-60 mph.
My 90 has snorkel Mud terrain tyres Rock sliders 2"lift Egr removed And heavy tubular off road bumper no winch though Just taken my roof rack thinking it would give better mpg but still the same Any ideas, what are K&N air filters like and straight down pipes I've heard they help out a bit is that true Cheers |

Just went through the whole thread and calculated the average of the averages on the thread. I have ignored the figures quoting 30 mpg or more as these seemed to be unrepresentative of most people's experience and well outside normal fuel economy capabilities of the 'average' Td5.
Out of 19 mpgs provided in my sample, the lowest is 23.6 and the highest is 29. The vehicles are a mix of 90s, 110s, ranging from standard to modded with cages, maps, winches, roofracks, etc. The average average for Td5s based on this thread is 26.7mpg. This is about what I got in mine before I started putting heavy kit on it, lift and knobblier tyres.... now I'm getting around 24...... Well done Pam, think that sounds like a spot on average of averages. I have a completely standard 110 apart from deletion of EGR and a Hannibal roof rack and always seem to average around 27 mpg to each tank with a mix of A road and town driving. Can't see me ever hitting 30mpg!! 2001 TD5 110 County Station Wagon - sold

Did you make allowances for the fuel that leaks into the sump in your calculations.....
Mine deposits 4lts of diesel in the oil every 2 weeks.....but they all do that sir, or if then don't its only a matter of time !! Sorry couldn't resist N. |

Well it looks like I am very average then...
Click image to enlarge I have recorded all fuel used over 2 years of ownership, highest was 29mpg on a long run at 65-70 and lowest was 23mpg when I was in a hurry on the motorway. The other thing that I have noticed that has a negative effect on mpg is I regularly do a short motorway journey to work, 10 miles 2 times a day. |

Hi Folks
Just done my first long distance motorway run in my 2004 standard Td5 90 and I'm amazed at the mpg achieved. I filled the tank to the top before setting out and recorded 250 miles at an average between 55 and 60 mph and the needle is now at halfway. Is this a record or what? My wife assures me that the needle will plummet like a stone in the next 50 miles but I'm made of more optimistic stuff. I was expecting the worst ie tank nearly empty after 250 miles, so I'm amazed and pleased. Judging by some of the other postings on here I must have a very light right foot! Cheers all! Nick |

The app looks like RoadTrip or RoadTrip lite (depending if it's the full version or not) - same as I use Although its smiles per miles that counts, as was said earlier in the post...
