Perhaps an interesting tale of the unexpected lasting a year...
Please bear with me - there is a point to all this 1) Handbrake started clattering from new so went to get it fixed 2) German ape mechanic failed 3 times and gear changes were worse after (I thought he had shagged the gearbox) 3) Drove Gary at Alive to distraction because almost any power increase caused juddering in 5th and 6th around 2000 rpm. Did me loads of increasingly "tamed" versions until I could use one - that guy had incredible patience with me... 4) Decided to check handbrake myself - rear prop off both ends - drum retaining screw a bit loose - rebuilt handbrake - prop back on. Nothing unusual. 5) Handbrake still clatters BUT changing gear is much better 6) Lost power yesterday in extreme heat (see other posts) cleaned MAF, checked filter etc... The power now seems okay (not sure if it's a bit sluggish but it reaches top speed) and just for fun, I loaded the original (first very juddery) remap and... it doesn't judder All that I notice is that the engine roars at the old "juddering" rpms. So here are a couple of riddles: a) Was most of that trouble with the gear changing and the juddering remaps JUST due to some mis-alignment of the prop? b) Is it normal for the engine to roar (sort of loose not throaty) when giving welly (it never did before)? It's all just so weird Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Seriously, you have no idea p.s. but I prefer to think of it as "pushing boundaries"... Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
