I am after a set of standard progressive springs as fitted to the rear of 110 Pumas. Preferably nearly new. WHY?

Because the Terra Firma medium duty ones I have are FAR too hard for my needs. As someone who travels light I can see they are going to be too firm for what I need (other than towing and we know a way around that don't we James!). I have the rear tub on the old girl and the springs have yet to compress a mm. Even with me stood in the back they don't move. Now the hard top doesn't way as much as me so I don't envisage it going down much more anyway. I parked it in the workshop today and with the one rear 6 inches lower than the other as you come in the spring was dislocated already! Now that doesn't bode well. |

That would be grand. You are not too far away either. Drop me a PM with an idea of how much you would want for them Cheers Mark |

I think the ones you are after (if it's a 110) are RKB101111 brown/purple progressive springs.
But beware! I am currently rebuilding my 1989 110 station wagon and have these springs fitted and have the same concerns as you, at the moment it has the engine, bulkhead and rear tub on and the springs haven't moved at all yet, in fact the standard shocks fitted are at full length and are compressing the springs slightly so no chance of dislocation for me ! I bought mine as new take off parts from Keith Gott land rovers for £47.40 inc vat a pair which is cheap compared to new prices. I spoke to them this morning about my concerns and they said that they are the only springs that are fitted now to all 110's and should be fine with everything else fitted. I guess I will only have to wait and see! Good luck, let us know how you get on!! |
