2.4 110xs station wagon value at 1 year old(6000miles
I was just thinking about the value on my 110xs station wagon only extras it has are priv glass, on a part exchange for another 110 ,the reason is i work for tata steel which gives me 20% discount. If i was to break even it might be worth the swap only problem would be the new 110 has a 2.2 engine.Any advice would be a help.

Not being funny, but what's wrong with the one you've got?

Don't think a new one would offer you any extra features or benefits over your current vehicle.

I thought the idea was for him to sell his current one and perhaps buy his new one (less his 20%) therefore making a profit and having a newer motori Confused 2005 TD5 90 Hard Top

I read it as trading in his old one against a new one with 20% off therefore cutting about even and getting a new car for very cheap. But I don't see the point in changing a car that's a year old.

your right nothing wrong with the one i have just thinking by swapping each year i would keep the value in the car also no service to pay,no road tax or tyres etc.

Ask your dealer for a px price to change

As you are thinking, guess it will be close, if any, after the discount

I am normally thinking about changing about now, 12-14 months, but recon i will keep the current one a tad longer this time round California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

I presume by working for Tata, you are not VAT registered, so in effect the discount you are being given is equal to the VAT on the new car.

Dealer will offer you around 20 K for your car, so you will need to put 5-6K into the deal, however you could try selling privately to someone who isn't Vat registered and you may get closer to the "swap" price. Richard

Either a 90, 110 or 130.

Good luck getting that from a dealer.... When I considered doing that with mine, 110 DC XS with loads of extras (Retail at £32,000- But I got it Tax free (20%)and a further 15% discount).

I was offered at 13 months, 9,500 miles on the clock......... £12-18000..... and after looking at it they said the maximum they would give was £16,000. I know for a fact now (another 2 years later) I could easily sell it for £25-30,000 here in Cyprus and it's spec isn't really any higher than back then.

If each year you could get a new one at no extra cost, why not do it? It means 5 years down the line you could still have a new car and pay nothing for it rather than having a 5 year old car worth half the value (even though LR don't deteriorate this much).

Part of that may be that they know you got it for a steal in the first instance. When I was in Germany changing my car every 6 months, the dealers knew we were onto a good thing and their offers reflected this. I always tried to sell mine privately.

A 110XS USW is £25,120 on the Tata Scheme, thats a discount of £6,174.

Best discount is on a Range Rover 5.0 V8 Supercharged Autobiography, thats a £17,128 discount, I wounder how many Tata Employees have taken up that offer?

The freelander is popular in our car park, loads of people bought them thinking they would be worth more than they paid for them in a year, so they could upgrade for nothing, how wrong they were! Your just loosing the VAT, and most cars do that when you drive them off the dealers pitch!

Well i have had a discussion with my dealer and he has informed me that i will need in the region of 2k to swap but recommended that i sell it my self which will give me the 25k i paid for it.Also i had a quick test drive of the new 2.2 seems a bit quieter than my 2.4 but not a major differance. So all in all cant see the point in swapping as i have spent some time on sealing, wax oiling etc.

I'd bite the dealers hand off with that deal.....they are offering you more than what a brand new vehicle costs the dealer Whistle Richard
