Friday the 13th.....clutch woes :(
been parked up all week on site ..didn't want the midlands scum getting there mitts on her in the hotel car park. Coming back down the m32 and the clutch was HEAVY. Crunchy gears and some serious transmission play Big Cry
So i ended up in Guy Salmon and its booked in to have it investigated.

I'll check it tomorrow to see if it was just me or a heat related issue. They didn't batt and eye at GS...seem to agree that a new clutch was in order. I was thinking TB and clutch

5500!

Its better today. So can only be heat related...steady 75 - 80 down the M5 yesterday.

Symptons were heavy clutch, poor dis engagement, lots of backlash and very hard to select gears.

I'll run it later and see whats what.

I had a vw T5 a few years ago that had a dual mass flywheel issue, the springs broke up between the two halfs and eventually spat its self out the casing! Feels a little like the early stages of that.

Booked in on the 30th for investigation.

Didn't you recently have a similar issue, was it handbrake shoes, they wouldn't be binding causing the heat?

That's bad luck Marcus ... still better to get sorted whilst on warranty Thumbs Up

I was worried about mine to begin with, then I found an A4 piece of paper stuffed down the back of the engine bay with "NO CLUTCH" printed on it, so my remedial work was done in Solihull.

ZAG - no handbrake issues, i have had a small rattle after a long slog but nothing compared to the others.

BP - Its real wierd...spot on from new...pulled my new trailer without issue, real smooth gearchange so a big surprise when coming off the M4 and struggling to change down.

The wifes out in it this morning...she'll break it if its going! She said it felt ok though after a 25 miler to her friends yard this morning?

Did you check the level in the clutch fluid reservoir. A low level would make it hard to change gear. A long short but it could be something as simple as that. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
