There is a wide range of metal cubby boxes around. Just to name a few Safari Equip, Mantec, MSS, Britpart, Barebox etc.

Some come with no pads, others just come with one height of pad, others have a choice of two different height pads.

Some have a separate radio compartment, others have a fixed or detachable drinks/trinket tray.

With both a radio compartment plus a drinks/trinket tray fitting into a Puma can be problematical as it is too long to fit into a 110 USW without either fouling the transfer box lever or protruding into the rear passenger space.

Do not think of these boxes as safes. How many people routinely lock their cubby boxes? They are in a very prominent position. For security keep valuables well out of sight.

Some things to consider. Length of box as already mentioned. Height for elbow rest depends on your build. Locks are likely to be similar, are metal box edges rolled, if so more resistant to being pried with a screw driver.

Just a few things to consider rather then simply saying buy brand X, Y or Z.

I quite like the XS DIamond trim one the Exmoor has http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/catalogue/deta...l?sef=hcfp , but then i use my 110 as a family run around and i like the luxury look it has.... Dont know if its any good, but will let you know when i get it in the next couple weeks.

Maybe buying a small safe, then fixing & upholstering it in is the solution. Say a fire safe or box. For things like sat nav, wired-in tracker perhaps, mobile, GPS. They can have my radio....

That way combination locks would be an option as would hardened steel etc. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

looks like ite meant to go with the Elite seats.

I wish some mag would get the guts to test all the security boxes, without worrying about upsetting their main advertisers. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world.
