Can only be clutch master cylinder .. slave cylinder is under the cab mounted on the bell housing Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Just had mine changed, luckily it hadnt gone I was just getting a bit fed up with the slight weep. They really are 'one of the Defenders achilles heels' 2005 TD5 90 Hard Top

both the master and slave cylinders were replaced (with genuine LR new ones) 27th May 2011... so back to the garage it goes .. should have a years guarantee on the parts ?

the master cylinder it was - indeedy .. all fixed, the last one was replace 27th May, so it almost lasted a year.
all drips and mess cleaned up and now mrsBPMan is an expert on driving the 300 clutchless (steady ), now the accelerator cable needs replacing .. ho hum - another job for the weekend |

Some LR parts are not great and I think can be Britpart or made by same firm. I heard that LR were sending many parts back with complaints as the quality was rubbish, certainly with Series 2 bit's it's generally better to refurb your original stuff than buy new. When it comes to cylinders, carbs etc it is better to get your old one refurbed Trouble is with the Defender we start off with crap Isn't there a quality product made by an independent somewhere |
