Very nice in white too. You are competing now with the real "ICE" model of you know who
I have bought now months ago the same center console painted in "Black Piano" lacquer. Also the top part which covers the clock is painted like that. My SVX is going to the local dealer tomorrow for a full fluids change, and they will also replace the center console then. Can't wait to see how it all looks tuesday You never actually own a Defender. its silver looks very white in the pic, the 110 is silver so bit of colour coding going for the xtech look gloss black will look very nice especially on your svx even though thought it would have had silver already

It has silver as standard, yes, but when I saw more than a year ago at my dealer the "Black Pearl" limited edition (for Switzerland and Germany only I believe), the glossy black dash was absolutely magnificent.
Land Rover did not want to sell it to me, just like the fantastic steering wheel of this edition, but I found out easily enough that the entire transformation was done in Germany by Startech. So I now have both that steering wheel, and as of tomorrow the glossy black dash You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

What steps are needed to be taken to paint one gloss black? Besides the obvious of course.

Well obviously you have to remove it and the switches. Use what to rub it down with though? And just a gloss spray for plastic and regular clear laquer I assume? |

Or,..... order it from Startech I know, not cheap, but the finishing quality and the type of black lacquer which they call "Piano Black" is just superb. Looks similar to the black piano lacquer of the wood inserts in some of the high end Range Rovers. Killer90, I think I will keep the original silver dash, just like I kept the original steering wheel. You never actually own a Defender. alright mate yer worth keeping for later on if you go to sell the landy and kona, fine paper to rub it down its only so the paint sticks nicely, thin coats and build it up slowly you could use spray tins or a gun on a compressor and its just plasticized paint
