Can anyone recommend a good work lamp. I would like to add one to my roof rack on the rear, but not sure which one to go for. I would like an LED type so found the one below in a link. Im not sure how it would look thougth and would only allow movement in the up down direction. I would probably mount two, one on either side, or maybe one big one which can be pointed in all directions.
When my vehicle was built, they must have put two of the LR wiring kits in. I utilised one for the spot lights on the front, but have one spare, so would probably extend it and use it for the rears. http://www.autoelectricalpartsuk.co.uk/pro...ltage.html Any recommendations or advice appreciated. Here is a good selection: http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?option=c...;Itemid=14
Personally I'd consider SKU: IPF816HCS or WL43 The IPF lights come as a pair and have a unique wiring kit supplied and the round LED type is single unit but with a hollow fixing bolt for easier cable routing. ![]() |

Our AlienXplorer LED lightbars are over 50% cheaper ..... we have a 7.5" model which fits neatly centered over the rear washer jet or in the 'standard' space on either side of the hardtop

Hi Rob,
These really are incredibly bright ! There is a write up from one of the guys at my local LR club who bought two for his work truck here: http://www.twinaxle.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=801 ![]() Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() |

Could one of these be used as an additional reversing light? maybe mounted down on the crossmember somewhere, or would it be better as as reverse/work light maybe mounted high up.
I see "only for off road use" does that mean when used on the front (or front and rear?) DJ 1989 200tdi 90 csw 2011 110 usw Orkney grey Buy British 🇬🇧 Defender Clothing Designs available at http://www.rangesports.com/acatalog/Defender-Stuff.html |

The 'Off road use only' is specifically when used on the front.
Mounting higher up will give a better spread of light and put them further out of harms way, having said that I've mounted one of these between the rear lights on my trayback as a reversing light (but that is about chest height) |

I can't find a pic of the rear of the Trayback right now but here is one of a 7.5" lightbar fitted to the side of my Trayback for a recent night punch hunt (and a 42" above the front screen)

Sorry, should have said specific. IPF supplies a wiring kit with the two lights. Or of course you could do your own ![]() |

Are these units spotlight or floodlights (or somewhere between the two?). They are a really neat size and I was thinking of bumper mounting them below the main lights if they work as spots. That way, it avoids the problem of putting something in front of the protruding A/C grill. Hi Darren,
I think you have probably accurately described them as 'somewhere between the two', did you look at the link on 'Twinaxle' ?, Peter has posted up some pretty good pictures with cones at various distances |

The pictures were 'temporarily unavailable' when I tried. I'll have a look later. Darren
