I have one on the left screen on the dash of my 08, never managed to get it to light up....anyone know what it is?, mine doesn't come in on diff lock ===================================

I have one on my 57 too. I too have never seen it illuminated??

I would say a mountain icon is for low box but is probably only activated on other markets!

When in low box, mountain is not illuminated in Switzerland either. Guess it is like that all over EU (Switzerland comply with EU regulations) You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Apparently it automatically illuminates 38,000 feet above sea level to remind you to switch on your cabin pressurisation system and remind you that the outside air temperature is approximately -70 degress....

Aren't the Tdci dials lifted from the Freelander? I'd suspect it's a warning lamp for Freelander's terrain response, which has no bulb in it in a Defender. Just a guess, but seems most likely. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

This came up a while ago, they don't light up as said because the panel is taken from another motor
