1st box changed by dealer at 72k as was becoming difficult selecting 2nd box gave up on the way home from the dealer after approx 50 miles. I suspect they hadn't put any fuilds into it as it howled like a supercharger 3rd box now has 35k on it but not the greatest. Original transfer box but 7th or 8th clutch with another one imminent. 95% road driving with some towing and 5% off road. Bearcat, nope I wasn't best pleased as they'd already had it a week to change the first box. That and taking 3 hrs to get dropped off at home then fluffing about the following morning having it recovered back to the dealers was not conducive towards a nice conversation. Fair play to them though they got it sorted tout sweet.
Zag, I hope it's not my driving style as most of the miles are done plodding the motorways. Maybe it's this pulling away in 2nd 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

I'm quite shocked at how cr4p they seem to be, thankfully we love them for all their faults. Possibly the main reason that depreciation is minimal is because if they were to age and become uneconomical to repair like most other cars it certainly wouldnt be! if that makes sense?? Land Rovers are rarely scrapped, someone will always buy a project and lavish upon it whether it needs it or not. I just find it strange that the Defender is considered by most as a tough versatile truck, a dubious honour.. 2005 TD5 90 Hard Top
