I presume that the canopy on the back is no longer available them???
Hope you get the problem sorted. On a slightly different note - anyone got any ideas how to stop rainwater getting into the rear tub and once there out again. Mine keeps on filling up after rain. I have a rubber matt in the rear and every time I lift it it is wet underneath - it is dry on top but the water is getting in at the rear corners on the left and right hand side of the spare wheel. Is is a good idea / bad idea to drill holes in the floor of the rear tub on either side of the spare wheel to at least let the water out?? |

I drilled some holes in mine and also removed the rubber seal on the bottom of the tailgate ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Apologies for digging up a really old post but have things got better with water ingress in the rear loadspace since these posts were made? Just trying to work out what to do with mine...

Well looking at this again, it's self evident why the rear leaks:
![]() Click image to enlarge with a huge gap in the corner, meaning water just pours into here: ![]() Click image to enlarge leaving the tell-tale rust spots. It looks to be a really poor design of canopy. It would be better if the rear edge was a cm or two longer but I think the issues would still be there. My first approach, when the weather improves a little will be to take the canopy off and re-fit to see if I can get it lower on the rear edge. Failing that, I'm thinking of some sort of tub corner capping piece like this: ![]() might resolve the issue. I want to get it right as I plan to carry dogs in the rear tub and whilst they can put up with most things - a wet floor is not one of them ![]() |

Had the same issue with mine. Very poor design to be fair, but not one I doubt will change!
I had to seal the curve under the rear side windows with mastic as the foam there let water into the back and under the 2nd row seats. I managed to roll a sausage of dum dum putty and clamber into the rear and press this under the rim which has the galv back strip on and stop most of the rain coming into mine. I still get a dribble though. I think it's getting in where the corner of the tilt is, and you have a small exposed area you can fit your finger in. My driveway is sloping. If I park nose down, I don't have an issue. I have the rear of my tub lined with 6mm thick ribbed rubber sheet. Underneath is always damp & a few rust spots are forming. If you sort a solution to the corner, let me know. Never know... you could patent it!!! Out of interest; in your 13my..... carpet or rubber in the cab? |

Any time!
I asked as it was mentioned on a previous thread; LR were changing back to carpet in the XS / County as people were complaining. |

Did a bit more on why the rear canopy leaks and found that the edging strip riveted to the rear of the truck cab in not on square and so leaves a large gap for water to pour in:
![]() Click image to enlarge I'm thinking of drilling out the rivet circled in blue and seeing if I can pull the strip in to seal the gap before drilling a new hole and re-fixing, probably with a bolt. I'm trying to think whether this is just another example of poor worksmanship in fitting the strip or whether it cannot go closer because there is no room to fit the rivet or possibly the canopy would not fit over the edge, i.e., it would be too tight a fit. Anyone been there already and care to share their thoughts? Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() |

One of my first jobs was to drill out rivets holding the galv angle to the rear body and seal it rather than relying on the dreaded foam gasket. Whilst it was removed I sealed between body panels, and then the same on front windscreen surround and bulkhead. So far no leaks
