I still quite enjoy Top Gear, but very much agree that there are gaps for more motoring programs (you can't move for cooking programs, yet relatively few motoring programs). Personally I would like a nice low budget program in the same style as Gardeners World where rather than popping in to look at how someones garden's progressing a lone beardie visits garages and catches up on restorations etc. Admittedly it would be quite niche but I'd enjoy it.
On the plus side television-wise a new four part series, Petrol Age, starts on Sky Atlantic on Thursday at 2000 and promises some Series 1 Eastnor Castle coverage at some point in the series. Peter 2008 SWB Truck Cab 1952 80" Soft top |

Wheeler dealers with Mike Brewer and Edd China ( easy watching ) campervan is very technical but sloooow .,both on discovery channel.
Top gear is tosh now , I watched the last 2 series with my three boys on the sofa ( with food , a real treat ) but they have lost interest now and what was once funny has become a poor parody of itself. |

I tend to agree, as much as I used to love top gear, its time for them to retire the show.
Should have done after the polar challenge and finished on a high. Shame as it used to be a good show. You cant polish a turd! But you can roll it in glitter 2006 Mercedes Benz CDI320 2001 Volkswagon Caddy Van 1.9 SDi 1993 Nissan Patrol 4.2 TD 1986 90 200tdi - SOLD 1990 Mini mayfair (highly modified) - FOR SALE |

JJ you are bang on the money.
I record everything I want to watch on sky plus so I can edit as watching, I can not watch the star in the shiiiiiittyyyyy car it makes my skin crawl.( one minute 47A and....... put glasses on look down at piece of paper suspense me arrssse) So it takes me about 10 minutes to watch the whole show. It is so badly made I find my self looking at the 3 kids watches one minute is is 3.10 and then it is 2.20 then back to 3.15 When they did the live show in Dublin I went and paid for the top dog tickets, stood out in the rain for an hour to get into the next line out of the rain ! stood in that one for another hour, beam me up let me go HOME The big muppet was so hung over( and admitted it ) he could hardy talk NEVER NEVER again. |

Put Mike Brewer, Richard Hammond, James May and Kate Humble in a room together and unleash some Ebola.
My friends little girl (5) spent about half an hour trying to explain who the "little girl" was she had been watching on TV. Turned out she meant Richard Hammond |

Frankly I'm glad the latest series is over, this last series excelled itself in containing some of the worst examples of our three amigos just having (often non-car related) laughs at the licence payer's expense. I too usually watch it on some form of catch-up and my editing reduces the run time to about 10 minutes.
