Have fun! I was born in Cartmel, it's lovely down there. Holker Hall does some good food (if they're open), but Cartmel Cheeses is the place to be for some fantastic... well - cheese! if your over that way. Good things come to the wild and free

Thanks
Might go and take a look at Cartmel cheeses I replaced my wing mirror yesterday with a cheap pattern copy type, well the wind blowing on my Milenco towing mirrors caused my wing mirror to fold in, meaning I had no offside mirror for the whole journey . Need to find a LR dealer and buy a genuine one for the journey home. I managed to angle it so that I could at least keep an eye on the bikes on the roof, I was sure they were gunna fly off at any moment! |

Keen to see your pics of the Kari-Tec - I am still loving mine Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Meathrop Fell Caravan Club site is really nice, and has been developed on the site of an old sanatorium. I'll take a few more photos of it tomorrow.
Drove from Meathop up to Keswick today, which took about 1 hour, travelling along lake Windermere. Then drove around Derwentwater and stopped off at Grange where my boy spent the afternoon throwing stones into the river. Got some cracking photos of him... but somehow the Defender kept getting in the way.. Doing the boat tour along Windermere tomorrow  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

thats a lovely looking site Warpig but then all CC sites are very well maintained aren't they.
Just a little tip - for food shopping try Booths - there's one in Windermere by the station - they're a bit like Waitrose only better - enjoy the hols ! |

Well some good news, I bought a £5 Caravan Club wireless card when I arrived here, it is supposed to only last 5hrs but I must have had at least 8 hrs use and its still working
A few photos of the Caravan Club site which is very full for this time of year, but still remains completely peaceful.. The wardens office/reception (you can just see the wardens Puma ) and the lower section where we pitched, close to the playground for our boy.. and here we're just about to drive onto the ferry to cross lake Windermere to see Beatix Potters Hill Top farmhouse.. Try some of the pork/ham pies in Booths, from the counter at the rear of the shop, lush!
And it sells loads of ales, in fact the best ale section ive ever seen, try conistone bluebird ale, again lush! And a good day out, try Hawkshead. |
