Spoken to a friend who is in the know.

All trailers must have a plate installed by the manufacture, displaying the Gross trailer weight and individual axle weights.

No exceptions.

If you own a trailer without a plate, I suggest you contact the manufacture for a replacement urgently.

VOSA are currently running a campaign targeting class O1 and O2 Trailers (up to 3500 KG GVW). Richard

About time they had a clamp down, too many home made non approved trailers on the road.

Does the law apply to sub 750Kg trailers?
Bike ones could be exempt.

No idea and google isn't helping with the answer unfortunately.

It does on my 3 year old Ifor Williams, I had a leaflet explaining so when I bought it. Prefer un-braked trailers if you can get away with less load carrying capacity, brakes on trailers are a pain in the ass to maintain Mad

My boat trailer has four wheels so four of the damn things and one needs attention before I can use it again, I think it was jammed on and binding when I towed last Rolling Eyes Whacking the hub with a hammer helped but it's still binding Rolling Eyes Never had any problem with caravan brakes though...
