hi Skippy
to be honest if you don't like rattles you shouldn't have bought a land rover but seriously, a few people (Killer 90 and co) are keen on the masai windows, but I like the idea of a single piece of glass fitted to the existing window frame .. no one on the forum has done this as far as I know. if you do it, pop up some photos oh and welcome ! bp |

I had 3 series landys 20 years ago (that's a fierce reminder that i'm over 21, ), i love them and always have that's why i decided last back end that i would have another, my grin factor has been immence since buying.
I did the plane window thing on my last S3 and it worked very well as i recall so thought this would be a good option to do now with the added extra of tinting. I've seen some pictures of the Masai ones but they are not for me, they look too delicate !! If i go ahead i'll post pics, cheers bpman. yer they do look nice skippy, on the right land rover though personally on a white car i wouldnt have it just get them tinted mate but if its the rattle you are trying to get rid of get the tinted original windows from masai they are the orignal type but are panoramic
heres my old white 90 with tinted windows Click image to enlarge and here are the windows from masai http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tinted-Rear-Wind...415b5fbf96 Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

OK, just to mix things up..... if you are going to all that work (getting the glass, new seal then dark tinting).... why not just get a pair of van panel sides? this will save a lot of work and probably work out cheaper if you can find a breakers with a set the right colour?
Or am I missing something? Glyn |

Skippy,
You have panels with holes in (filled by rattly glass), but if you call a few breakers there will probably be one or 2 which will have the side panels from a van body 90.... like this: Do one side at a time and it will only take a couple of hours to swap over. Glyn |

When we rebuilt my 90 I used a couple of side panels with windows that had already been tinted (stick on stuff) by their previous owners.
Like the darkened look with the Olso Blue. Looks kinda cool but not overly done Bit of a pain reversing down the drive in the dark as the visibility is a bit restricted - but I just roll down the window (leccy) and stick my head out if needs be! In the daylight though it helps to push a bit more light in than you would get with panel sides. As for rattles - my old ones rattle, so do these. Both cured by jamming in some bits of thin card (latest card ripped off the back of an old map book that was lying around, going to waste, being out of date and replaced by google maps and satnav!) Problem solved! |
