the BEST modification on ANY landrover is the fresh air vent on the roof (see bulge on roof above windscreen on earlier pics; and internally the vent controls of a mini classic are used to control direction and volume). so on a long journey in winter you can have the heater on your hands/feet/screen but also have cold air on your face = brilliant |

i bought it direct from Tom in 1997; and i have put 100k mile on it since then.
Tom was getting rid of it because he was seriously peeved that Land Rover didn't do a recall on the pulley alignment issue and he rightly argued that when you are in the middle of the Sahara in a well maintained vehicle you cannot afford to have the timing belt to fail and right off the engine! Thats when he went over to g-wagons. he signed 2 of his books for me. top bloke |

i've tweaked the contrast so you can see the controls a bit easier. i will be doing this mod to my puma once the warranty runs out |

Would you mind posting more photos of the dash? From memory it had a neat setup for the radio to the left of the instruments that lifted up?
How has it all lasted? |

here is one for the dash. The radio doesn't slide out and i have taken off the eagle gps system as it was a theft risk, but i still have it, including the mount. the original cubby box top lid hinges towards the gear sticks and has a vertical metal support sot the lid can become a table. the full cubby box is hinged to lift backwards to reveal 2 stainless steel pockets for a compressor and a bottle jack. |

I really do like it. I've got the original magazine article somewhere and often thought about what happened to it. From memory in the photo shoot it was on sand tyres and looked rather nice!
Could I be a real pain and ask for more details on the roof scoop? I assume it's metal, does it get much air flow? |

It's great to see it still around and apparently unmolested I too, would like to see more detail of the roof mounted air scoop, if you don't mind. Is it a purpose made thing, or something that's been adapted from something else?
What's the back like? I vaguely remember it being kitted out for carry all sorts of useful stuff, but not sure if it was vehicle specific or just some clever boxes Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing?
