Don't want to be rude but what do you do to be doing all that mileage ???

You should maybe speak to LandRover themselves as that is a brilliant advert for their product. Dave

I would say therefore the servicing is the key, mine is done as per the book at the dealers every 12thou and everyone knows the list of bits mine has had. My dads Disco used to be over serviced as is my Range Rover and they both sound like new. As much as the manufactures and oil companys think there products are good for 12 and in Transits 18 thousand miles all that soot and crap in the oil cant be good for it. My haulier last week was talking about a new truck oil wit 100thou Km service life, ????? If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Ohh and as an aside, 6months ago we were only offered 4 grand for the 90 with high mileage thats why the bosses dad is going to retire it to his apple farm and tow his boat twice a year, and a new quote was done last week the new one should be on order very soon for April delivery, with the VAT on the road 25k. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

wow thats some achievement. Just goes to show that regular engine oil changes + transmission oil + 2 stroke = longevity. QED. I'll bet your motor and all the cogs underneath are in better nick than many Pumas with less than half the mileage Thumbs Up

The industry knows all this not needing to be serviced for 20,000 miles etc is a load of tosh, they do it so they are competitive when it comes to new sales Rolling Eyes Most modern disposable euro boxes will be scrapped before they reach 100,000

It is what governments want you to do-change your car regularly. You buy a car and run it for 20 years they only get the sales tax once. Change a car every four years that is sales tax 5 times in 20 years. They will use this eco thing to force us to change more often, just for the revenue. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Yes , used genuine spec but purchased in 45 gallon drum, worked out at £477.00 + vat a barrel
