Oooh I love the truck though Very Happy

Didn't know Waddington did shows, I used to pass there often in the '90s as my brother-in-law was station commander of RAF Scopwick just down the road.

Indeed the Lincs ALRC National rally was held in the fields outside his base in 1995 so rather than rough it with the club members my brother and I roughed it in the station commanders house Laughing

No problem Kev

Now I understand the ID from the Vulcan photos on the front Fender. I still remember them flying when in service (briefly) If I recall from my reading Vulcan 607 (?) about the massive logistical effort to actually get a Vulcan bombing mission on the Port Stanley runway in the FALKLANDS (for all you argies), correctly they left service in 1982.

I assume you are one of the heroes trying to raise funds to keep the last wonderful old lady in the air.

I remember going to air shows at RAF Finningly and RAF Church Fenton in the '70s and '80s and being stunned seeing them flying, what a stunning plane!

I am lucky to be in Herts and pop down to RAF Hendon to see the one there, though it may have gone with the Valient up to the new museum in Staffs.

As for your wonderful truck, again I am jealous Mr. Green is it a command truck, I take it converted to your home from home. My brother and I used to go to the old Military disposal auctions in Leeds and I have always had a soft spot for the Leyland Martians, either 12 man gun tractor or the heavy recovery truck. One of the latter being in one of the auctions in 1992. I wish I had had the required £2,500 it went for at the time, I however baught a Sankey for £55 Laughing

Yeah Julian, i am a big fan of Vulcan XH558, athough i do fundraise and try to raise awareness of its plight i`m pretty sure i`m no hero!
The Hendon Vulcan is still there and unless the demolish the building it `s going nowhere as they built the museum around it.

My truck is/was a workshop and as you rightly sumised is now FFC (fitted for camping) with a full size double bed,fridge,cooker/oven,shower,sofa,woodburner,telly etc
It has a 8 litre engine which returns a frugal 8mpg Shocked but this doesnt prevent us driving it silly distances, such as the Dorset steam rally (i live in Felixstowe)
I also have a Willys jeep but i wasnt going to admit i had a Jeep on here !!!!

LOL, well I don't think a Willys Jeep would cause offense here, they are great motors and of course the Heritage of Land Rovers.
