Are the drain plugs for the Sump, Gearbox and transfer box magnetic?
If not, does anyone know where you can purchase magnetic replacements? LANDYWATCH Neighbourhood Watch for Land Rover Owners http://www.landywatch.co.uk/smf2/index.php |

Thanks for the link Laurie. Unfortunately they have none listed under Land Rover and I don't know the thread size/shape required. More research needed. LANDYWATCH

Would think transfer box and gear box would already have magnetic ones fitted Td5 do.

Mine doesn't. It has magnetic on the Transfer Box, but the gearbox wasn't magnetic.
I will probably replace it, but not until the Warranty's expired. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

I changed all my oils in my 2011 Defender.
I wrote it up here: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic8707.html The Gearbox DOES NOT have a magnetic drain the Transfer box DOES HAVE a magnetic drain plug ...assuming they are all the same Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

So the conclusion so far is:
Transfer Box DOES have a magnetic Drain Plug Gear Box DOES NOT have a magnetic drain plug. Engine Sump ??? DOES NOT have a magnetic drain plug. So does anyone know if anyone can supply magnetic drain plugs for Gear Box and/or Engine Sump. I've only been able to find Diff drain plugs that are magnetic. On both the sump and gearbox drain plugs I glued 2 small magnets. They do the job. Just need to be careful while removing the plugs Puma 110" SW
