I thought ar$1ng about and nothing serious was the point of TG these days - unless you want the beardy bloke back with his technical analysis of MPG, resale values, etc.

No doubt the Clarkson bashing parts of the press will be trying to hang them out to dry tomorrow, watching for every comment he can or the others can be critisied for. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

I had to let out a little chuckle when Hammond was sat in the cab of the breakdown truck........."Somebody's just farted........"

Just a little sign of the times with the amount of words that get past any swear filters Whistle

I did find it hard to believe that noble would let Hammond or some one else take their new car apart! Russell

Easy entertaining watching - good luck to them.

Just think we could be stuck with the American Top Gear version, the format is handed to them on a plate, they copy it verbatim right down to the lap score board prop, and it's a terrible programme... Rolling Eyes It's the mix of characters in our Top Gear and how they genuinely interact that makes it Wink

Methinks there was a bit of poetic licence going on there, Hammond gets delivered to a garage(specialist) just outside Rome in the dark on a sunday. It's all stripped down, Hammond with a smear of dirt on his forehead and then he greets the other 2 at dinnertime in a replacement Rolling Eyes

Looked a bit more like a failiure of the friction material, the loose bit then was then launched out and caused damage. Years ago we had a new Fendt tractor, 180hp, big in its day chew through 3 clutches in 50hrs. These first 3 were paddle plates, not a complete round affair but more like a paddle wheel. Could be quite unnerving pulling a big trailer on the road in traffic when the thing would just keep driving with not a hope of stalling it : shock: only thing you could do was turn the key off and hope, and just remember that the steering and brakes soon failed with the engine off Shocked It was a definate brown trouser moment Whistle
