CRJ , I assume that your 130 has the rear crossmember underneath the body of the tub.
If so then I doubt if any of the normal aftermarket ones will fit So as I see it you buy a standard one and get some strong extension brackets Alternatives are for a purpose built one. Maybe Sonic would be prepared to help out here? Unless you are handy with a welder, best mates with one, it will not be exactly a cheap option. I am visiting one of the UK biggest makers/suppliers of wheel carriers tomorrow so if I remember I will ask them Brendan |

Feel free. I dont have drawings as I 'make to measure' Its not rocket science simply duplicate the hole pattern for the wheel mount further from the rear cross member and over to the right to allow the tailgate to open. 130's have feeling's as well you know

The wheel carrier covers the fog light (check out the pic above with the truck going through the river) so I have mounted the fog light into the carrier frame

Thank you for pictures - looks great
I think that is the way to go - I was thinking of a cheaper option - mounting the wheel on the tailgate. But I guess the tailgate and hinges etc. would give up in the long run Regards CRJ 88 Ser. 3 1980 -sold Puma 130 - 08- sold 90 200tdi 1991 - sold 88 Ser. 3 1977 200 TDI 110 CC 2003 |

There is no way the tailgate would support the spare unless it was beefed up quite a lot. The cables and cable supports either side of the tailgate would also need to be beefed up. The spare would also hit the tow hitch when the tailgate is lowered. And it would be very heavy to open and close. Don't ask me how I know all of this 130's have feeling's as well you know

There's a commercially available one.. i'm sure someone closer to you stocks front runner equipment. Let us know what path you follow. Come the end of the month my full length hannibal roof rack will be fitted and I will be looking to fit two spares behind the tailgate - gota custom make that one. |

That looks great - except the price . I do have a full length Patriot Rack - so some minor modification is needed. I will give an update when the wheel is hanging on the back.

Going slightly off topic, have seen a Defender half door today as a replacement for tailgates.
Need standard Land Rover hinges and lock Understand that standard wheel carriers will work with this door. Brendan Brendan |
