Unindentified Wiring harness
In my 2003MY 90, there is a pre wired harness (rectangular plastic connector) that comes up through the floor under the middle front seat, towards the front edge.

Does anyone know what it is intended for? 2016 D4 HSE

If it were that, I'd expect there to be one under each outer seat, not one in the centre.

Plus, mine is a commercial spec at heart, and I am not sure if they would have bothered pre wiring for such things on a fairly basic specification. 2016 D4 HSE

How many pins on the connector?
My first guess without seeking it would be that could be the OBD diagnostic connector.

OBD2 socket would be my first guess too, does it look like the pink socket in this photo? http://www.abella.net/vw/images/DSC00931.jpg

on the TD5 i think it's on the left hand side of the centre console?

Defintely diagnostics.
Only thing to come out of that centre section (Currently have the cubby out so can see lol) Defender 90 XS TD5 (03 Reg)
