Don't worry, just enjoy. I've been twice and never seen a single snake, or locust. I have seen some spiders, but they were fine.
The beetles are entertaining Click image to enlarge 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy |

We went for the first time and alone in March last year and the weather was really poor wind and rain but not to cold to wild camp. Never saw any nastys. Watch out on the high Atlas mountains we went from a nice warm day to heavy rain to blizzard snow in the space of 4 hours on the climb and the opposite on the way down . A great experience and a initial culture shock on the first visit but great all the same.

One of many overnight stays (that particular night was spent approx 0.5 km from the medina of Marrakech) I see little point of visiting the country just to hammer down to the desert off road then back again. We spent 3 weeks in Morroco and two in Spain we hammerd down to Portsmouth, chilled/tipsy boat trip to Santander had a nice leisurely drive down through Spain (couple of days) 3 weeks in Morocco via Algerceris to Cueta drove down the Raf mountains (and met a few characters) visited Fes onto Marrakech over the the high Atlas right down to Tan Tan then back tracked to Zagora. Followed by a steady drive back to Marrakech onto Casablanca then Rabat back to Ceuta Into Spain few overnights in la lalina Cadiz (viewing property in Gibraltar+duty free) onto Malaga, pretty boring trek to Benidorm (booked into a hotel all inclusive) then one more wild camp and back to Santander. A few desert highways were completed in southern Morocco were done but as we grossed 3.5t and were alone with a puma saw little point in hammering the machine or any hardcore offroading but enjoyed it all the same (I can go up to pea farm all day for £20 to smash my 90). A great trip and soaked up alot of the culture 90% wild camping ( with the Engel and the split charge we brought back some frozen meat we took as well as most of the half goat we bought for £20). So maybe not the most hardcore axle smashing trip you would expect but satisfying all the same and approx all in the same price as one of these "follow my leader" organised treks. Disregard the data back on the pics the camera took a hissy did when on the car charger In Fes. Be sure to pack "bon bons" & "stylo's". Also make sure to have some folding left to grease the palms of the dodgy border guards at the ferry back to Spain - it smooths things somewhat This is border country and the Romans built a wall for a reason!
