Oil industry has good times and bad times, refinery sector is pretty grim for some at the moment (Coryton & Petroplus) the upstream is in better shape but still not like the 1970/80s.
I'm involved in Turnarounds, these are when we shut plants down, open them up, clean them out, inspect them, modify them, mend them and then box them up and start up production again. We spend many months (often years) planning the jobs, then execute the work in a few weeks (sometimes up to 2500 men on site) . We struggle to find enough high quality planners and I have thought about Ex military Engineers (we need military precission but often get headless turkeys). Is there a "Helping Lads Leaving an Army Career Office" who I could speak to.? Richard 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper |
