This will be the same as Td5 vs TDCi, will go on forever, will get heated, will be pointless.
They are slightly different, some plus points to the older unit, some for the newer one. Lets keep calm, enjoy what we have and NOT try and score points over others. We all love Defenders (well mostly!). Just enjoy it/them. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

No idea what drama the switch to tdci from the td5 caused, however the differences (to me) were more than expected. Still thats the natural progression and development of these things, hopefully no one will throw a teddy.

Defender's previous post is 'bang on!' It reminded me of a previous quote of mine which is also true in this case.....
I am sure the 2.2 will undoubtedly prove it's worth after all it's had 6 decades of development.... If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

I have been on 2 LRE full days using a 2.4 (110) Defender. Both times their different vehicles were quieter than my 90. LRE vehicles are LR serviced & highly maintained at Solihull I was told by an instructor, as they are demonstration vehicles, they always seem as new smooth quiet compared to privately owned ones. Don't be too harsh on your vehicle! Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender |
