Unfortunatly that wouldn't work with my current Wheel carrier

I am not sure that there's anything that will work with that, except possibly a ladder to the tub at waist level.

Yep,

The Hannibal ladders would work, but I think I will be using a length of bar down to the tub.

I don't carry a lot of weight up there so it doesn't have to be able to support great amounts. 2002 Defender 110 DC

Just got myself a Truckman back which I would like to interchange with the tilt and security cage.

How easy is it to swap the rear over with a rack in place or would you need to take off every time ? Defender 110 Puma Utility XS

I am not sure how the Truckman top fits so cannot really answer the question. I can tell you however that that the IW canopy can be removed without disturbing the rack, just! It is possible to slide it out backwards, but clearances are tight.

The truckman will be extremely tight to remove as it has to be lifted up about 40mm.

Also, the rain channel where the soft top fixes too can interfere with the sides of the truckman. I left the ran channel in place, but trimmed the ends to fit the truckman. 2002 Defender 110 DC

The rain channel needs to be removed in order to fit the IW top. It is easy enough to refit if you wanted to change back though.

The clearance between my IW canopy and the Patriot rack is less than normal since the rack originally came from an SW not a DC (the spacing of the rack crossmembers is difference) - there is approx 1/8" between the crossmembers of the rack and the ribs of the canopy. The IW top will slide back and out however, and only needs lifting very slightly, fortunately at points where the ribs and rack don't coincide.

That being said, it wouldn't be difficult to loosen the rack mounts and raise the back of the rack temporarily to facilitate removal of a canopy.

Blackwolf - can I ask where you got these rope cleats (if that's what you call them?) from. I'm refering to the item just below the tailgate latch:

They were a standard fitting back in the days (2007) when the DC tilt shut with ropes not zippers. I imagine they have a LR part number.

Similar cleats are available from any good yacht or boat Chandler.

RRC8002 canvas hood rope cleat available on ebay at £24.50! Might be worth contacting Defenderbits or Nick at Yeovil Land Rovers

Plastic Barton K clamp are about £15

Or try your local boat supplies.
