never had this problem in my old 200 or td5?
You can also try a wing scoop as that pushes more air through once its warm it helps the blower. Rad muff, remove fan, check stat, fit wing scoop |

I know this is an old post but I had the same problem in N. America/Canada last winter in my puma. After changing several thermostats and several other misc items I ended up taking off my viscous fan and installing an electric fan. Problem solved in winter however it took me awhile to sort a fan with enough cfm's in the summer. All good now!

another vote for "normal behavior"
Cooling systems are over dimensioned for the engine to cope with all possible situations. This is also the reason for electrical or fuel driven additional heaters on many luxury cars these days, especially on bigger engines which need even more power to heat up to normal op temps. All cars here drop to low within minutes during winter. 2cents |
