There are many air filter test reports done by manufacturers mainly aimed at the performance vehicle end of the market.
If you want some less biased reports to read which is aimed more at the 4x4 market have a read of these. Duramax AURLO Teaser AULRO Finally The first one is quite long and detailed, you can always skip down to the conclusion Make your own mind up (hopefully better informed) about performance filters and Defenders and how you use them. Ah ha, the Duramax test was the one I remember seeing ages ago. It's a shame that the pictures don't seem to work anymore, but the gist of it is that it doesn't show K&N filters in a particularly good light at all. Darren

Mm, I've seen that before. Got to be careful of the scales on the bar charts.
Unsurprisingly the least restrictive filter also let the greatest amount of dirt through - if there was some way to change that I think filter makers might have done so by now.... |
