bought an 08 tdci with 20k mls on it owner said difflock had never been used !!! but if you select difflock then it makes a loud rumbling noise from transferbox area ??? drives ok without difflock engaged. just driven it 70ish miles home without fault Very Happy Very Happy poss have access to 300tdi transferbox to try before i dive in and order a new transferbox from ashcrofts so just wanting to clarify compatibility ????


most 4x4 never go into difflock...especially a 300 tdi disco!

so low range diff lock makes a nasty noise?

If it's not been used it will be stiff. Just get underneath it with a can of WD40 and give it a good soaking. Had this on a TD5 90 back along. A good soaking and a bit of effort with the lever had it sorted in less than 5 mins 110 D250 SE HT

been out for a drive today after messing with difflock lever this morning and when i got home and tried it again its silent when engaged so hopefully was just stiff/stuck from no use Surprised Surprised
