2002 Defender 90 Td5 SW Zambezi Silver
New Head Unit
Just popped a Clarion all singing all dancing HU in my Td5 so now I have iPod control, Cd/Mp3 and Bluetooth phone connection. Everything is working fine and all radio stations set up. Yesterday morning I turn on and all the radion stations pre sets have dissappeared. I'm guessing I don't have a permanent live although I've used the correct ISO adaptor cable from Halfords (BMW Plug) so no butchery ought to mean all connections are OK.

Any ideas?

Make sure the wires at the back are plugged in right. Normally the red and yellow wires have plugs in them so you can change them about for different vehicle wiring and also check your fuses as there are two for the radio, one for the live and one for the ignition feed.

I can't really help other than to say I had exactly this with a Pioneer unit. I tested the red and yellow to make sure they were the appropriate permanent and switched lives (according to what the Pioneer unit needed) and they were fine. Halfords have swapped out my unit but I've not had chance to try the new one yet....

As Zinke mentioned the inanition and permanent live often have connectors on so you can swap according to vehicle loom setup. Worth a look.

Thanks chaps. I'll take a look at the possibilities once No.2 son brings my Defender back. He's having a brake caliper on his Evo helcoiled at the moment so he's borrowed my Defender. That'll slow him down a bit Twisted Evil
