My handbrake drum is dripping oil again, after a recall (and fix) in April 2011. This was the second replacement oil seal, under a recall. Does anyone know if there is a definite fix for this problem?

I had the recall done last year as well, in May I think.
Had a major failure in the new seal after 30 miles which resulted in LR Assist being called out to see if I could actually drive back to the dealer to get it fixed. Yeovil LR replaced the seal without question and all has been well since Bob 2015 Jaguar XE240 R Sport - goes like ....... !! 2013 Defender 90 CSW - sold 2009 Defender 110 Double Cab - sold 2001 TD5 90 CSW - offroad project - sold to a forum member 2011 Porsche Boxster - for the sunny days ! |

I would try another dealer. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |
