Today I fitted the new 2007 Mantec Snorkel to the Red Dwarf. £135 from http://www.mantec.co.uk very easy to fit and you don't need to move the ariel as the Mantec bolts and seals to the outer wing.

Ahh... that makes sense, 9dB eh? nice Whats it plugged into or is that classified?
Yeah, thats whats putting me off, the local stealer reckons they can be registered as LCV (#175 RT) but I am not convinced, and people on other forums report the same cost |

Nice looking job that. Did you seal the ducting inside the wing and under the bonnet? Or just the outer fitting and trust the rest?
I was talking to Mantec about it at Billing and they said it was a simple case of fitting with the sealing gasket they provide but I'm not sure I'd trust that if wading. |

The standard ducting is sealed to the inner wing. I have not traced the ducting to the air box yet to see if there are any holes like the D3 has. |

Well we are off to compete in Morocco in October. We will be in a 12 vehicle convoy, so the idea is the 110 will be the middle vehicle in the convoy with the networking stuff. Then we will have a 'mobile' network as we travel to Morocco. Then once there we will use the networking between my D3 and 110 to communicate between vehicles during the competition. The idea is to discuss mapping and plot routes whilst sharing desktops type thing. |

So for me the question still remains about which is the better product - Mantec or Safari.
Or are they functionally the same. Or does it comes down to how it looks. I'm going to fit one to a Defender 90 XS 2.4 (new one) If anyone can answer this many thanks David |

Hi, as for which is the better product, they are all very similar On the Hybrid, which is used for challenge events etc, i did have a Safari one, That took a lot of punishment, pulling the top off, very near bent double, on a number of occasions, That did get replaced with a Southdown SS version, as it does not protrude to the side so much, Also have a Safari on the 90 TD5, which has been fine, Have not seen one of the new style Mantec in the flesh as yet, but will this weekend at the J33P event at Seven Sisters, This is the one like Andrew's which i am planning on fitting to the 07 110 Think it come down to the look of which you prefer California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |

The Safari will require a lot of modification to fit to the 07my the Mantec simply fits and seals to the outer wing. Its up to you but I have just got another 07my 110 CSW and it will have a Mantec. Reasons being its £110 cheaper its available and its easy to fit, oh and its got a S/S window bracket not a crap powder coated one that starts to rust within 10 mins of fitting it. |

Spent 3 hours wrestling with a Malaysian child slave yesterday, trying to get his tiny, tiny hand into the wing of my mate's Td5 90. What a ballache it is, fitting the safari snorkel
If we fit a snorkel to Mrs Do$h's 90 it will be the gypo chimney as I'm not going through that again 54 Freelander modded for mud 2008 D3 SE 2010 90 XS SW 1978 88 Series 3 undergoing surgery with a new owner 2007 90 County Truck Cab - gone 2006 D3 SE - gone 2004 Freelander Sport - gay 1999 Disco V8 ES rotted to bits |

Don't you need a Defender first?
