On my 110 i've either got 255/85 BFG MT's or 235/85 general TRs, and to be honest, for 99% of the RoW's on the 'plain and surrounding areas, the Tr's will get you around just fine... maybe a bit more wheelspin, but nothing more.

Granted, when it's really wet and claggy, then MT's are much better, but for the bulk of Wiltshire, TR's will be fine.

What tyres are everyone using, will I get away with general TR's or do I need to get the credit card out ahead of schedule? Big Cry

Is on to do list, but am trying to hold off till February

Well you should be alright with the TR's, if you get stuck there will be some mone to pull you out but most of the lanes will be loss gravel.

Thanks for the reassurance. My aim is not to be a burden, stuck at the sniff of mud. Will see what tyres I can muster if possible. If not will just have to use my off roading skills Cool Banging Head Banging Head ahem! ===================================

If the lanes are bad enough to need anything other than standard tyres then we shouldn't be driving them. Thumbs Up John

Well, in the theoretical world maybe, but in the real world.... mud occurs, slopes occur etc etc.

And... just to be a pedant, LR's can come from the factory with MTs fitted, therefore one could say MT's are standard Laughing Laughing Whistle

I'm sure we'll all be fine and if not, I have a tow strap and shackles etc. TBH the only 2 people I have seen stuck was a disco 1 with small wheels ... gentle tug out of a rut and all was fine, and the other was a muppet in a bob-tail RRC who was off the trail (and not in our group)

don't panic Thumbs Up

True - I was just trying to point out that standard tyres should be fine for laning Laughing John

Oh Yes BIGFOG, planned the route today, BigRuss assisted Thumbs Up Let's say, it's non-scratchy but there's lots of fantastic views for people to get a feel for just how big the area is - will be fun.

I have email addresses for all and I will email you a pdf with start/end points and notes.

Sounds perfect, must have been beautiful up there today with the weather so clear!!

Do we have confirmation of lunch plans yet or is the jury still out.... Might be worth waiting in a final decision till we have a better idea of what the weather will be doing, no point planning to cook anything if it's due to be tipping it down, but a clear day like today would most likely be sublime.. 2009 XS 110 Utility Stornaway Grey
