YES they may well only be $1000 in the US. However we are NOT in the US Bring them back/across from the States EVEN if you could get RHD for the UK, OK US is LHD like the rest of Europe, is it that simple? The lights on sale in the US are approved for use in the US only and conform to SAE, The international ECE Regulations for filament headlamps and for high-intensity discharge headlamps specify a beam with a sharp, asymmetric cutoff preventing significant amounts of light from being cast into the eyes of drivers of preceding or oncoming cars. Control of glare is less strict in the North American SAE beam standard contained in FMVSS / CMVSS 108. J W Speaker USA handles US distribution and only supplies SAE approved product into its domestic market place Mobile Centre administer the aftermarket distribution for J W Speaker for Europe, Russia, Middle East and West Asia and because of this agreement only supply ECE approved lamps. Mobile Centre appoint dealers such as ourselves , 4x4 Overlander and Alive to re sell their products. Harley Davidson have a bespoke lamp made by J W Speaker which only carries North American approvals so cannot be legally used in Europe. Mobile Centre and its agents will not warranty any US originated lamps – they will have to be returned to the supplying dealer nor will they be road legal in UK or in Europe The price is what it is as we are 3500 miles away in a totally different economy, in a totally different VAT and import duty taxation regime. So do you want to risk spending money on unwarranted, non approved goods, which may well fail the MOT and attract the attention of the police? Brendan |
