Great - absolutely fantastic bit of kit.
And it deciding to warm itself in the mornings is a treat the infotainment system did need an update as it would occasionally crash after having the TV on its a hard life Thanks for asking Mike |

at the moment and if you have LR warranty, a 2.4 needs to comply with the ford oil specification, and there are no castrol edge products that conform. so i'm using magnetec until my warranty expires (oil change every 6 months).
once the warranty expires, there is an edge product a5/b5 for volvos that I am going to try, its got more protective qualities that magnatec (because it does not break down as quickly) TJ may have a good perspective on this specific oil ? |

why do you stick to Castrol? There are a5/b5 oils meeting the requiered spec, eg. Motul specific 913C, Motul eco energy 5w-30 etc, the latter with higher HTHS values. Anyway, in this case a5/b5 is better than a1/b1.
Since I`m out of warranty, I do my own oil blend which is low vis enough to meet the 5w-30 oil parameters and shows no wear and oil break down (oxidation and nitration) as when an a1/b1 oil is used Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Castrol Oil does comply with the Ford spec for the 2.4 engine, i still have 5l if you want to see - it also happens to be the same as the fiesta tdci oil Its the retail oil for the current line up - mainly the Jag TDV6 that their isnt a retail castrol oil on the market (you can get a shell and another one) Mike |
