Sorry to go off subject a little but i see you have the continental factory fit tyres and your from Germany where you have a proper winter every year. How do they perform in snow and ice?

Thanks.

Pete.

Since we are going off topic (what's new Whistle Rolling with laughter ) Can see why you want to paint those bits of chequer plate.

Definitely ugly in my opinion, not to my taste. YES they need painting.

Brendan

Congrats with sorting out the photo hosting Thumbs Up

I saw that too, just didnt want to go too far off in one go. For me i would drill out the rivits and paint them on a bench, far easier in the long run for me anyway.

looks like an italian police defender!

why the chequer plate? damage?

for me the external grills are out of the question when internal ones and tints keep it more OEM.

Far play to you though, guarded right up Thumbs Up

Oh God, where shall I start?

Grills - are for security, driving around dodgy places in Italy, Czechia, Croatia etc. but also so the dogs can have fresh air with the windows wide open. The grills are outside so the windows can operate unimpeded and it doesn't feel so much like a prison for human passengers. I think they look okay, sort of cool in fact.
There will also be one inside at the back to stop me taking out the back window with fencing posts etc. Can't fit it yet though as the Stop light is in the way and the door card has to come off (too bloody cold outside for such shenanigans).

Chequerplate - yes, the colour was a mistake Embarassed but the purpose was to cover up a few scrapes already and prevent/dissuade further minor damage. Opinions please: replace with black or paint them blue to match the body?

Tyres - came as standard with the Boosts and a couple of forum members (at least one in Scotland) have had good things to say about their performance in ice and snow. As this is their first Munich winter, I will only change to Cooper Discoverers or Nokian Hakkap... if the need arises.

Doesn't anyone want to insult my muff?

Take no notice. It's your Land Rover, so as long as you're happy nobody elses' opinion matters.

I like the number plate, by the way. Is that coincidence or planned? Darren

In fact all the plates in this area start STA, so you can choose START, STAB, STAR, STANK, STAMP... STASI Laughing etc.

Probably going for black chequerplate - it's easy to get and I think dark blue might look a bit weird on "texture".

Cheers

They're big reflectors for when we park and the kids open the doors without thinking! Munich is covered with cycle paths right next to the road, so the nearside reflector is for them. The offside reflector is to warn all the inconsiderate sods who don't give any offside room when you stop. Go on then, mock me Laughing Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
