My wife has often complained about the headlights on the Tdci not shining far enough ahead of the vehicle. I noticed that when the lights are switched on they are angled to the lowest setting i.e. 4 on the dial on the dash. It is not possible to raise them up with the dial but after about 20 minutes driving they will rise to the highest setting i.e 0 on the dash mounted dial of their own accord. It is then possible to adjust them up and down with the dial if necessary.
When the vehicle is stopped and turned off all is hunky dory. When the vehicle is started and the lights switched on they go down again of their own accord. Standing by the vehicle you can hear the motor moving the lights down and see them moving. Thought I would mention it just incase someone else has a similar problem. I e-mailed the dealer who said they would ask their workshop manager. As I got no word back yet he is probably stumped and passed it on to Land Rover. Hope to get it booked in next week. I suggested it could be an ECU as all the electronics work - after 20 minutes! Anyway I e-mailed all this to the dealer so as they will have a solution before the vehicle goes in. I will post any developments as they arrive. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

Interesting. Not noticed it myself, but will certainly check for it. I'll be interested to see any updates.

Turned out to be a faulty switch which was replaced under warranty during a service. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Hello New on here. My biggest problem is that the standard lights aren't enough.. I travel up and down a mountain everyday, and in the winter the fog is a PITA. Normal cars come with fog lights, and due to the laws in Switzerland, we aren't suspose to have any brush guards on the front. On top my roof rack can't be used due to the fact that I only mount it for vacations because i can't park my Land 110 anywhere like in my garage. Any advice for this?
Thanks, RB 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw Landrovers of Switzerland Club member |

Hi you can get bumpers with lights mounted actually in them. I can't remember who sells/makes them I am afraid but the metal standard front bumper had circles laser cut and lights fitted in that were recessed - maybe that's the answer in your case?

I changed the original light bulbs for Osram H4 55/60W +90%...but had to replace them (broken) as they couldn't handle the suspension vibrations.

Thanks for the info guys.. I too was thinking of upgrading the bulbs, but now I think I'll let that go.. I want to add light to my roof rack, but they have to be modular, because I take it off after I use it.. can't park in my garage..

I find the headlights very good- they are very bright. If they are not shining far enough ahead of you, it could be the same problem I had. My problem was that the lights were angled too far down making them shine only a couple of yards in front of the vehicle. A faulty dash switch was my problem. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
